Losing weight in 2008

Are You Overweight?

Ever wondered what methods of weight loss worked in 2007?
In this article I'll be discussing the past as well as the future of weight loss as we move into 2008.

Summer is on it's way and you probably picked up quite a few pounds during the holidays.
Now is the best time to start working on your figure!

Feeling energetic and looking good is what summer is all about.
You better get moving though, it's around the corner!

Let's quickly look back at 2007 and the various weight loss methods people used.
Some was completely useless and others did show results.

Useless (I mean dangerous in this sense) methods for 2007 was:

1. Gastric bypass
2. Mesotherapy
3. Liposuction

And methods that did bring results

1. Balanced diet combined with cardiovascular exercise
2. Appetite surpressants
3. Organic herbs such as green tea

2008 has no surprizes.
We still have gastric bypasses, mesotherapy and liposuction. We still have cardiovascular exercises and appetite surpressants.

There is however one weight loss method that keeps getting attention from the media, not to mention the feedback from satisfied users from all over the world who discovered this.

It's Green Tea. Click here to visit the only source I know off FILLED with green tea information.

Can you imagine a simple herbal supplement that has the ability to do more than 1 job. It surpresses your appetite, burns fat, as well as lower cholesterol. It's any over weight person's dream come true.

Green tea has been around for hundreds of years. The Japanese and Chinese have use it throughout their life.
No wonder they are so slim and so fit.

It's not until us Westerners found out about the benefits of Green Tea that out attention shifted towards the East.
Green Tea was even featured on Oprah Winfrey's Show. Companies have gone bonkers just to get their hands on green tea extract.

But that's where things got out of hand…

Many companies have started their own mass produce green tea plantations on American soil. This led to impure green tea extract which accompanied poor results to the user.

Only a handful of weight loss companies still use 100% pure green tea.
Then there are your genuine green tea plant. This plant should only be bought from sources that can prove they have obtained it from Japan or China. The most famous of all green teas is Xi Hu Longjing and can be found in the Zhejiang province situated in China.

Obviously it would be much more of an hassle to brew your own green tea each day, especially if you are using it for weight loss purposes.

In that case, a capsule based green tea weight loss supplement would be your best bet.

5 Things To Brighten Your Teeth To Pearly Whites!

smile2.jpgTo obtain healthy white teeth, you HAVE to practice the best oral hygiene you can.
And that doesn’t mean you have to go to the dentist every morning. You can do it at home.

1. How’s your toothbrush?

Many people go for a hard toothbrush, thinking that the hardened bristles will do more for their smile than a soft brush will do. Well…you are wrong. It might do more harm than good. There is something called enamel which surrounds your teeth. Not only will a hard bristled toothbrush hard your enamel, but it can also damage your gums.

Tips: Go for a toothbrush with nylon bristles. Also…don’t use tooth whitening toothpaste with electric toothbrushes. Your enamel won’t be able to handle the abrasiveness.
2. Brush more

This is more than obvious! Chances are good you are going to skip this step, but you shouldn’t. You should brush your teeth at least twice a day. This will ensure you get of the bacteria in your mouth. Make sure that when you brush you brush your teeth but at the same time also cover the edges of your gums.

Tips: Try to use gentle short strokes to brush your teeth. Brush the outside of your upper and lower teeth and move from one side of your mouth to the other. Do the same for the inside of your teeth and repeat at your moler areas.
3. Floss Floss Floss!

The areas between your teeth are probably the only place where your toothbrush has trouble reaching. Flossing provides you with one of the quickest ways to get rid of plaque and food build up that get stuck between your teeth.

Tips: Everybody knows how to floss, but it’s important that when the floss reaches your gumline, curve it into a C-shape against one tooth and gently slide it into the space between the gum and the tooth until you feel pressure against the tooth. Then gently scrape the side of the tooth. Make sure to grab a new floss after every second tooth.
4. Eat the right food

Sugars ladies…that’s the stuff that cause cavity problems.
The weirdest thing is that even healthy fruits and juices can cause damage to your teeth.
You have to watch out for those highly concentrated fruit juices. The reason I say to watch out is because these fruit juices have a very high acid level and eats away at your enamel.

Also…if you feel like eating sweets like chocolates and candies, make sure you rinse or brush your teeth afterwards.
5. Bleach your yellow pearlies.

Most of you have stained teeth. Most women tend to have stained teeth since we love tea, coffee, red wine and cigarettes. Teeth bleaching is a popular solution.

6 Crucial Health Tests Women Must Have

1. HIV/AIDS

You will never really know if you don’t go test yourself…especially if you had more than one partner in the past. HIV/AIDS is a growing threat around the world. It is crucial that all women go for the test at least once a year.

If you have a partner, you both should be tested on a regular basis.
And for goodness’ sake, make sure you practice safe sex.

2. PAP test (Pap Smear)

If there is one thing you should do to help prevent cervical cancer, it’s the pap test.
You have to go every year (this is a must ladies!)

3. Breast Checkup

Women in the United States get breast cancer more than any other type of cancer except for skin cancer.

The following are common symptoms of breast cancer:

  • Your breast or nipple feels different
You may experience nipple tenderness or notice a lump or thickening in or near the breast or in the underarm area. This might not always be a sign…especially if you have heavy PMS. Many women experience tender breasts before and during their menstrual cycle. It might also be caused by you wearing a bra which is too small. The underwire might squeeze your breast tissue and causing bruising. Try not to wear smaller bra sizes. It’s not healthy for your breasts.
  • Your breast or nipple looks different
This could mean a change in the size or shape of the breast or a nipple that is turned slightly inward. In addition, the skin of the breast, areola or nipple may appear scaly, red or swollen or may have ridges or pitting that resembles the skin of an orange.
  • Your nipples are discharging fluid.

Test yourself:

  • Clinical breast examinations every three years from ages 20-39.
  • If you are aged 40 and above…you’ll have to increase your examinations to annually.
  • Exercise with a low fat diet!

4. A Blood Pressure Test

If you are still really young, then you might not have to worry about this one.
Most women under the age of 30 have normal blood pressure. But you might never know.

A good rule of thumb would be to test yourself each year.

If you walk around with high blood pressure, you will silently damage your arteries, kidneys and even your brain. And the worst thing of all is, that damage is permanent.

5. Blood Count Test

You have to do this at least once in your mid 20’s.
The main reason behind a CBC (complete blood count) test is to test for anaemia.
Once you have gone for your first test, you can go for it every 4-6 years after that.

6. TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone)

There are many women diagnosed with hypothyroidism. “Hypo” referring to low thyroid levels.

This leads to depressions, weight gain and in many cases …miscarriage.

Symptoms might include:

  • Fatigue
  • Hair loss
  • Weight gain
  • Constantly Feeling Cold
  • Memory loss

Support Breast Cancer Awareness

Many women have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

During October of this month it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

So what can you do to support women with breast cancer?

Buy the famous pink ribbon.

I thought about providing a link, but it will cost you much less and save you more time by getting it at your local gift shop. (Plus you know that it then definitely goes for this cause…you never know with online businesses.)
